The Apple Ipod is the standard that most MP3 players try to live up to. While the new Apple iPhone marks Apple's first foray into the market of smartphones. I'm sure the iPhone will be a success, the question is whether it will become as great a success for Apple as it's Ipod, and become an industry standard. The iPhone is a stunning new smartphone built around it's very capable multimedia capabilities, internet connectivity, as well as a 2.75G quad-band GSM network connection system. It offers a 2.0 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi connectivity capabilities for connecting to the internet, and of course it's very impressive touch screen user interface system, with a virtual keypad as its main "mobile phone" input system. The phone's touch system is known for its cutting edge technology, being truly groundbreaking there is nothing quite like it. Its storage features are quite impressive, boasting a 4 gigabyte and 8 gigabyte model for potential users to choose from. It comes with an internal iPhone battery, which powers the iPhone impressively, the raw power fueling the iPhone and its boasted features. The official battery time of the iPhone offers up to 250 hours of standby time power, and can crank out 24 hours of MP3 play, 7 hours of video playback. It has a talk time of up to 8 hours, and can use the internet up to 6 hours it's most power intensive action. None of the iPhone competitors come close to matching the battery capacity of the iPhone. The iPhone with it's eight hours of talk time, doubles the capacity of the Nokia N95, the Blackberry Curve 8300, and the Palm Treat 750. Each of those phones only boasts a 4 hour talk time rating. While the Samsung Blackjack is eclipsed as well with it's talktime rating of 5.5 hours. Apple obviously produced a very impressive product with these long talk times. Not all is roses with the Apple iPhone however. The iPhone battery is internal and cannot be removed, while it's competitors have easily replaceable batteries. Because there are no removable batteries, when you travel with an iPhone you should always bring a travel charger. Most smartphone models can have their battery easily replaced if the phone becomes discharged, while the iPhone must be charged immediately in order to use the phone. Most smartphone users, using "the usual" smartphones, purchase extra batteries for those in case of emergency situations. With the iPhone battery, this isn't possible. The other problem with the Apple's iPhone battery system is that eventually when the battery dies you have another issue. The battery can only be replaced by a licensed Apple technician either locally or by shipping the iPhone to a service location. The least of your worries with an iPhone should be the battery. This phone will perform remarkably, and hopefully will last long beyond the normal 2 years of life most phones enjoy.
